Microsoft Replacing Internet Explorer With A New Browser "SPARTAN" In Windows 10

Microsoft's latest operating  system Windows 10 is about to release for sale, and with that  Microsoft planning to make a big change in web browsing experience for its users. Microsoft going to replace Internet Explorer and will introduce a whole new light weight browser code named "SPARTAN".  As per the news it will take a place of internet explorer in upcoming windows operating system. 

The new browser will be lighter and faster in speed to provide whole new browsing experience to Microsoft users. The windows 10 will be shipped with a lightweight Spartan browser along with backward compatible Internet Explorer 11. The new browser will be available for phone, laptops,tablets and desktops. its still a secrete that will it have a support for Apple's IOS and Android devices.

The new "Spartan" broser will include extension support, separate desktop and mobile versions, and will utilizes Microsoft's Chakra Javascript engine and Trident page rendering engine to make browsing more efficient.  

According to ZDNet’s Mary Jo Foley reports that the new browser will look and feel more like the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. With Mozilla and Google Chrome becoming more and more popular among the users, Internet Explorer is no where in the competition. That is why Microsoft was forced to make this change to compete with the popular browsers like Mozilla,Safari and Chrome.

Google's Android 5.0 Announced Code Named As "Android Lollipop"


Google have just announced it's upcoming version of Android Operating System called Android 5.0 officially code named as "Android Lollipop". After months of teasing the release, Google finally revealed the secrete behind earlier announcement called "Android L". Google has kept its tradition of keeping Android release names from sweets. Each new version of Android has been named after a sweet treat, in alphabetical order starting with Cupcake, and then on to Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat.

First bunch of Android 5.0 Lollipop based devices are expected to come early next month. As per the information given on official android website, Android lollipop will make a debut on Motorola's upcoming Smartphone in nexus flagship called Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 a table made by HTC and the Nexus Player.The company also confirmed that Lollipop is coming to the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, as well as Google Play edition devices, in the coming weeks.

Google gave a gift to Motorola smartphone users by announcing Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for number of Motorola devices such as both generations of the Moto X and Moto G (including the LTE model), Moto E, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra. Though, it is not announced when this updates will be made available but atleast google confirmed its plans.

The company also going to release Android 5.0 SDK on Friday, October 17th for developers. So its clear that google has done it's best to make sure everything goes smooth and steady. so that all Google announce on its official release of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Motorola Launching Moto 360 On Flipkart


Once again Motorola is back with something really cool for the gadget lovers. With the launch of Motorola's next gadget a cool looking Wear-base Smartwatch called "Moto 360", the company planning to give some strong competition to Samsung, Sony and other manufactures. Sony and Samsung already are in market with their Android based wearable gadgets. And it seems like motorola too not wanting to be left behind.

The Moto 360 will be soon launched in India on Flipkart. The company once again trying to attract the buyers by launching it's product on it's favorite launching partner and India's most popular E-Commerce website Flipkart. The Smartwatch is already listed on Flipkart, but without price and availability details.

However Flipkart has already started attracting the gadgets lovers on social media. "It's time to wear your style! coming soon on Flipkart!" says the company on a Facebook post.

Moto 360 is one of the most awaited Smartwatch. The device which was revealed before a month ago features with a cool looking circular design with 1.5 inch LCD screen having resolution of 320 x 290. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The device is packed with TI OMAP processor and 512 MB of RAM and having 4 GB of internal storage. Moto 360 will be powered by 320 mAh battery which can power the watch thought a day on a single charge. The smartwatch also having IP67 ratings for water resistance.

 Even-though there is no official announcement of price of "Moto 360" but it is expected to be sold around Rs 15,000 by Flipkart

Japanese Develop Technique to Increase SSD performance by 300%

Japanese researcher claim to have developed a technique which increases read & write performance upto 300%. Their method also decreases power consumption and also decreases the amount of write and erase cycles. The Scientist of the Chuo University announced their method at the 2014 IEEE International Memory Workshop (IMW), an international academic conference on semiconductor memory technology, which took place last week in Taipei, Taiwan.

  


 If this technique really works fine then the days are not far that we will be able to write or read large amount of data in no time. we will have the ever fastest working storage devices. The method of Japanese researchers is based on NAND memory that doesn't allow to overwrite the same memory area. To rewrite the same written area, first written memory should be cleaned. And this cleaning process is very time consuming. That's why SSD tries to write free blocks first. This technique leads to increase in data fragmentation. and also this process require more head cycles. SSDs deals with this problem using technique called "Garbage Collection". this process defregment the data which rearranges the data in sequence so that it can be read sequentially and also erases the written data that is no longer in use. All these commands take 100ms or longer which decreases the performance of the SSD, the Japanese researchers argue.

The Japanese researchers claim to have developed way that prevents fragmentation of data. They have built up a method called "LBA (logical Block Address) Scrambler" which resides between the filesystem and SSD controller.The LBA scrambler converts the logical addresses of data being written to reduce the effect of fragmentation.

Specifically, instead of writing data on a new blank page (see image above), data is written on a fragmented page located in the block to be erased next. As a result, the ratio of invalid pages in the block to be erased increases, reducing the number of valid pages that need to be copied to another area at the time of garbage collection.

When the method is tested they found that using this method they increased the performance of SSD by 300% and power consumption is also decreases up to 60%. This method also decreases the read/write cycles upto 50% and hence due to less read/write cycles the life of SSD also gets increased.

Windows 9 & Windows Phone 9 Expected to launch between Q2 and Q3 of 2015

A recently released new report claims that a Window Phone 9 preview version , Along with the same version for Windows 9 will release between Q2 and Q3 of 2015.

According to a leaked official official document posted by Myce , Microsoft is planning to release its new OS in 2015. if the document is to believed, the final release of Windows Phone 9 will be made by end of the next year. Windows 9 Preview version is expected to be available around the same time. It's notable earlier rumours had hinted the Windows 9 release in April at the next Microsoft Build Developers’ Conference. The new leaked document corroborates those rumours.

One of the highlights of the leaked document is the mention of “Windows 365”, which is also labeled as being in "Alpha based on Windows Core". Windows 365 is expected to be very similar to Office 365.

Windows 9 is expected to bring a slew of changes to the Metro UI,  Windows Defender, OneDrive, and Windows activation. There are chances Microsoft may include Cortana in Windows 9 as well.

Intel Announces Its New Power Packed 5th Generation "Hasewell-E" series Processors At GDC

Its looks like Intel is still very much focused on its Desktop CPU business. Seeing as how the announcements were made at GDC, it was understandable that Intel VP and general manager of the desktop clients group Lisa Graff, speaking to a group of reporters on Wednesday evening, exuded the most enthusiasm about a chip specifically designed for overclockers, an enthusiast-targeted processor code-named "Devil's Canyon". Devil's Canyon, which will be released in the middle of this year and come in both i5 and i7 versions, will be based on 4th-Generation Haswell cores, but will add a few changes aimed directly at overclockers. "We typically do not do this," Graff said.


New processors
The company provided a sneak peek at its 5th Generation Core processor, codenamed Broadwell, and announced that it would be available in socketed form for desktop consumers. Previous industry reports had suggested that Broadwell would be targeted at notebooks and small-form-factor PCs, and would only be available in pre-built PCs or soldered directly onto motherboards. The 5th generation core family will essentially be a die shrink of the current 4th generation Haswell architecture, and will be built using 14nm lithography.

At least some Broadwell CPUs will also be available unlocked, a feature aimed at attracting overclockers and performance enthusiasts. Iris Pro class graphics, which has previously only been available in notebook-bound versions of Intel's CPUs, will also be available on the desktop for the first time.

Besides that, Intel also announced the new Extream Edition CPU series will be available in the second half of 2014 and will be delivered with motherboards based on upcoming 9-series chipsets, which will become the first desktop board to support DDR4 RAM. The series is codenamed as Hashwell-E, will include the first eight-core Processor and high end graphics specially for Gamers as well as those with heavy processing requirements like 3D graphics and animations.

Google Public DNS Server Traffic Hijacked


The Internet is becoming a dangerous place day-by-day and especially for those innocent web users who rely on 3rd party services. The latest bad news is that the World's largest and most widely used Google's free public DNS (Domain name system) resolvers raised security red flags yesterday.

DNS is the master address list for the Internet, which translates IP addresses into human readable form and vice versa. According to Internet monitoring firm BGPmon, Google's DNS server 8.8.8.8/32 was hijacked yesterday for 22 minutes.

The Google's DNS server handles around 150 billion queries a day and during the 22 minutes of hijacking, millions of Internet users, including Financial institutions, Governments were redirected to BT’s (British multinational telecommunications services company) Latin America division in Venezuela and Brazil.'

It is suspected that Hackers exploited a well-known vulnerability in the so-called Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), which is used to exchange data between large service providers, and hijacking could allow the attackers to simply re-route the traffic to a router they controlled.

BGP attack is the man-in-the-middle attack at large scale and harder to detect, as the traffic still reaches its legitimate destination and which was first demonstrated in 2008 by two security researchers - Tony Kapela and Alex Pilosov.

It's not the first time when Google Public DNS service has been hijacked. In 2010, DNS server traffic was hijacked and redirected to Romania and Austria.

US National Security Agency (NSA) has an eye on each post, picture, message you have ever sent on Facebook

Besides collecting metadata and inserting backdoor to the devices and softwares, the US National Security Agency (NSA) has an eye on each post, picture, message you have ever sent on Facebook. I know you won’t be feeling free considering your privacy, but, this is what the NSA is doing to you.
The new revelation from the Glenn Greenwald’s desk remove the mask from one more secret surveillance operation carried out by the US intelligence agency NSA, the extensive program dubbed as ‘TURBINE’, according to the classified files provided previously by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.
Yes, the NSA, who has been working with its dedicated hacking unit, Tailored Access Operations (TAO) from the past several years on enlarging its caliber to infect devices with spyware and creating its own command-and-control servers to manage millions of infected systems at a time.
The secret documents presented by The Intercept website shows that the NSA with its British counterpart GCHQ are spreading a surveillance malware on computers and networking devices, “implants” that is capable to spam out millions of pieces of sophisticated malware at a time, that has been successively deployed over 50,000 Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) around the world and their number was expected to reach 85,000 by the end of 2013.
CHALLENGE FOR NSA - One presentation from 2009, marked top secret explained that the agency was dealing with a great challenge for an active SIGINT/attack is ‘scale’, and infecting a huge number of machines and casting a wide net for data collection, the Human drivers limit the ability for large-scale exploitation, because humans tend to operate within their own environment, not taking into account the bigger picture.
PROJECT TURBINE, THE NSA's SOLUTION - “Top-secret documents reveal that the National Security Agency is dramatically expanding its ability to covertly hack into computers on a mass scale by using automated systems that reduce the level of human oversight in the process,” wrote the journalist.
So, Rather than limit such actions to human operatives, an automated system that was capable of managing malware implants is codenamed TURBINE in the revealed document, which was designed to allow the current implant network to scale to large size, i.e., millions of implants, this would be possible by creating a system that does automated control implants by groups instead of individual.
NSA TARGETED FACEBOOK - The NSA allegedly used a ‘man-on-the-side’ attack to target and infect millions of computers. The NSA also used “man-in-the-middle” attack to spread the malware, rather than relying on old tactics like Spamming links via emails.
The agency disguises itself as a fake Facebook server and trick unsuspecting users to log in thinking they were connecting to real Facebook’s server. So that the NSA could hack into users' systems and covertly stole out data from its hard drive.
“In some cases the NSA has masqueraded as a fake Facebook server, using the social media site as a launching pad to infect a target’s computer and exfiltrate files from a hard drive. In others, it has sent out spam emails laced with the malware, which can be tailored to covertly record audio from a computer’s microphone and take snapshots with its webcam. The hacking systems have also enabled the NSA to launch cyber attacks by corrupting and disrupting file downloads, or denying access to websites.”
MALWARE PLUGIN: NSA has also developed multiple plug-ins or add-ons for their malware:
UNITEDRAKE - capable to gain complete control of an infected computer.
CAPTIVATEDAUDIENCE- can hack computer’s microphone to record conversations taking place near the device.
GUMFISH - can covertly take over a computer’s web cam and snap photographs.
FOGGYBOTTOM - records logs of Internet browsing histories and collects login details and passwords used to access websites and email accounts.
GROK - a Keylogger Trojan, that logs keystrokes.
SALVAGERABBIT - to access data on removable flash drives that connect to an infected computer

Facebook eyes Towards Providing Internet Using Drones


A Social Giant Planning to provide internet in underserved part in the world. Facebook now thinking something amazing which has not thought before. A Social giant working on a project which will provide Internet facilities Using Drones "remote plans' in parts of the world where still there is no internet connectivity. 

Facebook is going a step further from Google by providing Internet using "Drone Planes" as Google already announced project "Loon" which will provide internet using air balloons.   
The social network is in talks to buy Titan Aerospace, a company developing solar-powered, unmaneed aircraft that can be used to build a data services network in air,according to a report in TechCrunch, which cited an unnamed source. it put the value of the deal at US$60 million which is less than a deal facebook made to buy whtsapp.

Titan Aerospace is clamming this type of special purposed Aircraft called "atmospheric satellites". The aircraft can Fly at 64 miles per hour and stay aloft for five years at any height of 65,000 feet in sky, Without having to land or refuel.

Titan is not The only company working on this kind of Project. Earlier The U.S Defense Advance Research Projects Agency has been Working on the Similar kind of project for years. If Titan Aircraft can provide this services then it would be very helpful in Some Countries like Africa where Cellphone is becoming very popular source of internet access and Wireline infrastructure is very difficult.

The efforts will be handled under Facebook's Internet.org project to provide internet services in Growing countries. But Still the big question is whether such Connections can be maintained at affordable rates and are they safe enough from Hackers ???...we will get to know in near future.

Facebook Buying Popular Messaging Giant WhtsApp for $16 Billions



It seems like 2014 is the year of Selling Top Social Companies. Here is another Shocking Deal of 2014, Facebook Announced that they are buying a messaging giant Whtapp for $16 Billions.The deal is being cut for $12 billion in Facebook shares, $4 billion in cash and an additional $3 billion in RSUs for employee retention.Facebook has posted on its blog, detailing the reasoning behind the acquisition, as well. Facebook Announced that WhatsApp will continue to operate independently and retain its brand. In addition, WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum will join Facebook’s board.

Facebook notes that WhatsApp has over 450 million MAUs, with 70 percent of those active each day.“WhatsApp is on a path to connect 1 billion people. The services that reach that milestone are all incredibly valuable,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO in a statement.

WhatsApp, a messaging service for smartphones, lets users chat with their phone contacts, both one-on-one and in groups. The service allows people to send texts, photos, videos and voice recordings over the Internet. It also lets users communicate with people overseas without incurring charges for pricey international texts and phone calls. It costs $1 per year and has no ads. 

The deal is expected to close later this year.

Google Acquire SlickLogin to Protect Your Password with Sound

 Google has purchased SlickLogin, a three-person startup out of Tel Aviv, to help bolster the search giant’s two-step authentication efforts.

Now the days are not too far when you will be able to verify your gmail authentication by just placing your smartphone near your computer. Google Planning to provide sound based authentication to its users.  
Today, if you’re looking to fortify your Google account beyond a single password, the two-step authentication process consists of you first logging in with your password, and then entering a second verification code that’s sent to your phone by way of a text message, a phone call or by using Google’s Authenticator app.
Google now wants to provide some relief and let you dont wait for a call or a text message. SlickLogin would automate the second stage of the verification stage. Instead of waiting for a call or a text message you would just place your smartphone next to your computer to authenticate your google account.
As per the announcement on SlickLogin’s site, “Google was the first company to offer 2-step verification to everyone, for free – and they’re working on some great ideas that will make the internet safer for everyone. We couldn’t be more excited to join their efforts.”
The SlickLogin sound passwords work like this: websites create a one-of-a-kind sound that is supposed to be inaudible to human beings, then an app on the smart phone would retrieve the sound, study it and reply to the website to confirm the identity of the user. The purpose was either to replace written passwords entirely or to be a back-up authentication system. The idea is to help Internet users avoid cyber crime.

Intel Working On 15-core Xeon chip, Ivytown


Intel has provided more details on its upcoming 15-core Xeon chip code-named Ivytown, which has 4.31 billion transistors and will go into high-end servers.
The Ivytown chip, which will be part of the Xeon E7 chip lineup, will likely be announced next week. Further details of the Ivytown were shared Monday at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference in San Francisco.
With the highest core count of all Intel x86 server chips, Ivytown will likely be the company’s fastest performing server chip. Intel put 12 cores on Xeon E5 v2 chips that shipped in the third quarter of last year.
Chip makers typically pile up cores to boost processor performance while saving power. The older method of boosting performance was boosting clock speed, which ultimately was abandoned as chips drew more power.
The 15-core chip brings Intel a step closer to AMD, which has topped off at 16 cores on its latest Opteron 6300 chips. AMD’s first 16-core x86 Opteron chips code-named Interlagos shipped in 2011, but the company has not added additional cores to chips since.

Sony Xperia 'Sirius' leaked screenshots


Sony's "No More Leakage" campaign doesn't seem to be doing a very good job stopping device leaks, and we're glad of it. Earlier today we saw enough to pretty much confirm the hardware specs of the upcoming Xperia Z2 "Sirius", and now we have a look at the software that will be running on its new Snapdragon 800 and all 3GB of its RAM.

Expected Features :

1. Snapdragon 800 with 3 GB RAM.
2. New camera software with features like Timeshift , and high Speed recording for Slow-mo effect.
3. 4k resolution recording.
4. New UI with Sony features like Glove Mode and the X Reality engine settings

There are two types of hackers. First one are good hackers who are known as "white hat" hackers and another one which we will be talking about today are called "black hat" hackers. In this article, we will be talking about six famous black hat hackers and theirhacks which made them famous or wanted.

George Hotz

Young and talented and what is the most important bored teenager, George Hotz wanted to have fun one summer night and  as a result he hacked the Sony’s company Iphone. It happened in June of 2007, by that time George was 17. It was a bit of a challenge, because how to hack device with assistant things?  The secret is to figure out how “to speak to the device”.He also mentioned that what he did was completely legal.It seems people can be dangerous in certain way when they are bored. Kevin Mitnick                                                            

Kevin Mitnick is well-known as the most-wanted computer criminal in the United States. He was in high school when he started hacking. For several years he hacked dozens of companies.What interesting, for those “services” he was finally arrested in 1995 at his apartment for hacking. Kevin also has served 5 years in prison, nevertheless despite of his experience he runs his own security firm named Mitnick Security Consulting. The other side of the coin is, however Mitnick published a book that calls “Ghost in Wires”, which is about his upps-and-downs, victories and crushes. He shared that every hack was like a climbing to mountain and he reached the Everest. This is one more proof how talent have pined, because of a boredom.

Adrian Lamo

Adrian was called as the most effective and controversial hacker of the 21st century. That is very flattering status.He was famous for breaking into several high-profile computer networks. Lamo might use his gift to help people to consult, what is actually he did, but as exception and compromise.His baby steps in hacking, Adrian Lamo made pretty early and became known for the first time for operating AOL watchdog site.As many others, he was arrested in 2003 and had to correspond for each and every computer crime.Thus, even if Lamo now works as a threat analyst and public speaker, his glory will always follow him, because our past if the part of our “present”  and a part of who we are.

Gary McKinnon 

This “black hat” McKinnon  hacked into 97 United States military and NASA computers. He could be the biggest threat  for government. Glasgow-born McKinnon wanted the truth to come out and show itself. In March 2002 Gary was arrested by police. “Black hat” used his hacking skills to “research” his beliefs and evidence of UFOs  inexhaustible source of power, into the US government’s computers. He didn’t do that because of boredom, but because of obsession and thirst to hidden knowledge. Probably this computer crime is serious, but forgivable. Man wasn’t going to hack computer system because he was bored or to prove something, we was looking for truth no more than.

Jonathan James

Story of Jonathan James  is sad, nevertheless his life can be compared to comet – short, but bright. In 1999 teenager at the age of 15 years old hacked into Bellsouth and Miami-Dade school network. Jonathan James damaged NASA Systems, it costed $41,000 to fix the systems.  It goes without saying that he made serious damage. To stole software from NASA that worth $1.7 Million is one the biggest computer crimes. He wasn’t after information or justice, he was after money… As they say, never speak ill of the dead.Jonathan James was sentenced 6 months house arrest and banned from using computer, however that didn’t prevent him to commit suicide.

Kevin Poulsen

This talented “cyber-terrorists” could have great career and almost blow his chance.  It seems that this hacker likes contracts  and his life reflects it pretty well. He hacked into the US Department of Defense's Arpanet. However later  he worked as a consultant testing Pentagon computer security. Late on Kevin hacked  FBI, after that hacked phone lines to radio station  of Los Angeles… Poulsen’s life reminded American switchbacks…Certainly he was wanted by FRI  and finally they caught him. Despite of such interesting past, Kevin is law-abiding citizen and has several awards  of International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

1.BRUTE FORCE ATTACK

Any password can be cracked using Brute-force attack. Brute-force attacks try every possible combinations of numbers, letters and special characters until the right password is match. Brute-force attacks can take very long time depending upon the complexity of the password. The cracking time is determined by the speed of computer and complexity of the password.

For example, if the hacker was trying to get the password of a co-workers or friends computer, he could call him pretending to be from the IT department and simply ask for his login details. Sometime hackers call the victim pretending to be from bank and ask for their credit cards details. Social Engineering can be used to get someone password, to get bank credentials or any personal information.

Countermeasure: If someone tries to get your personal or bank details ask them few questions. Make sure the person calling you is legit. Never ever give your credit card details on phone.

3. RATS & KEYLOGGERS

In keylogging or RATing the hacker sends keylogger or rat to the victim. This allows hacker to monitor every thing victim do on his computer. Every keystroke is logged including passwords. Moreever hacker can even control the victims computer.

4.PHISHING TECHNIQUE

Phishing is the most easiest and popular hacking method used by hackers to get someone account details. In Phishing attack hacker send fake page of real website like facebook, gmail to victim. When someone login through that fake page his details is send to the hacker. This fake pages can be easily created and hosted on free web-hosting sites.

Countermeasure: Phishing attacks are very easy to avoid. The url of this phishing pages are different from the real one. For example URL of phishing page of facebook might look like facbbook.com (As you can see There are two "b"). Always make sure that websites url is correct. 5. RAINBOW TABLE :

A Rainbow table is a huge pre-computed list of hashes for every possible combination of characters. A password hash is a password that has gone through a mathematical algorithm such as md5 and is transformed into something which is not recognizable. A hash is a one way encryption so once a password is hashed there is no way to get the original string from the hashed string. A very commonly used hashing algorithm to store passwords in website databases is MD5. It is almost similar to dictionary attack, the only difference is, in rainbow tables attack hashed characters are used as passwords whereas in dictionary attack normal characters are used as passwords. 

Example: ‘hello’ in md5 is 5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592 and zero length string ("") is d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e

Countermeasure: Make sure you choose password that is long and complex. Creating tables for long and complex password takes a very long time and a lot of resources

6. GUESSING

This seems silly but this can easily help you to get someones password within seconds. If hacker knows you, he can use information he knows about you to guess your password. Hacker can also use combination of Social Engineering and Guessing to acquire your password.

Countermeasure: Don't use your name, surname, phone number or birthdate as your password. Try to avoid creating password that relates to you. Create complex and long password with combination of letters and numbers.

Motorola Moto G receiving Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update

The Moto G was recently announced by Motorola and has been grabbing a lot of attention thanks to its quality specs and low price. The smartphone, although not officially announced in India, has already started popping up on online stores at a price of Rs. 15,137with an assurance that it would be delivered in 10-14 days.
Now we are getting to hear that the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has already been pushed for the device and will be available for the global as well the US version. In case you didn't know much about the device, the Motorola Moto G comes with a 4.5-inch 720p display, runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 GPU along with 1GB RAM. There is an 8GB as well as a 16GB variant with an additional 50GB of Google Drive storage offered by Motorola free for two years.

Here's the full changelog for the new 4.4.2 update on the Moto G:
•    Android 4.4, KitKat: Android 4.4.2, KitKat, is the latest release of the Android platform. KitKat includes enhancements such as restyled status and navigation bars, a new full-screen mode, color emoji support, improved closed captioning support, stronger security, smarter power use, and more tools and capabilities for better app development.
•    Phone dialer: Improved the phone app with the ability to look up contacts directly from the dial pad, see and tap frequent contacts, and search your corporate directory easily.
•    Camera - Focus and exposure: Enhanced the "touch to focus" option with a new circular, on screen control that can be dragged by your finger around the viewfinder to adjust a photo's focus and exposure.
•    Gallery - Photo editing: Added new photo editing options to the Gallery app including new filter effects, draw on your photos, advanced cropping, and adjustments to color, exposure, contrast and more.
•    Printing documents and pictures: Added support for printing photos, Google Docs, GMail messages, and other content via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and hosted services like Google Cloud Print and HP ePrinters.
•    Hangouts - SMS/MMS support: Incorporated a new version of Google Hangouts that supports integrated SMS/MMS messaging. Hangouts can be set as the default SMS app under Settings > Wireless > Default SMS app.

Vivo Xplay 3S: World's first smartphone with 2560x1440 display announced

Finally we get to see the world's first ever smartphone with a Quad HD display with 2560x1440 pixels resolution thanks to the Chinese brand Vivo.

The coming year is going to be the year of 2K displays for smartphones and after a lot of rumours and leaks we get to see the Vivo Xplay 3S, the first ever handset which will sport a Quad HD display, which means a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The Xplay 3S has been officially announced in Beijing at an event today.
The smartphone has a 5.7 inch display, that translates to a pixel density of a whopping 515ppi. The Xplay 3S features the latest Snapdragon 800 chipset which has four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz with an Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM on board. Other features on the smartphone include stereo speakers, LTE connectivity, a 13 MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, and also a fingerprint sensor.
While the official pricing of the device is not yet confirmed, earlier rumours pointed to a price tag of $740 (Rs. 46,000 approx.). We will provide you with more updates on the smartphone as soon as we get more information.
Rumours have also been going around that Samsung is working on a similar display which will be launched on the upcoming Galaxy S5. Also the Chinese manufacturer Oppo had earlier confirmed that their upcoming device ‘Find 7’ will also feature a 2K display.

Nokia Normandy, budget Android smartphone rumoured for 2014 release

According to reports, Nokia is working on a budget Android phone codenamed Normandy, due for a 2014 release.

Nokia, which has been launching a slew of Windows Phone devices seems to be finally making its foray in the Android category of smartphones, according to a report from The Verge's Tom Warren.
The report cites that the Finnish handset giant has been working on its first Android phone, codenamed Normandy. Twitter leakster@eveleaks revealed last month an image of the rumoured Nokia Normady. However, the leaked image shows lack of hardware shutter button, capacitive buttons and LED flash suggested that this mystery device was most likely an Asha, aimed at budget buyers and emerging markets, expected to be launched in 2014.
Apparently, the report also states that Nokia is rather taking Amazon's lead, working on a forked version of Android that will not be associated with Google services, implying that Nokia will full leverage over the device's OS, much like the Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet range.
Multiple sources have revealed to The Verge that Nokia employees working on Normandy were told that the device is scheduled for a 2014 release, with one insider who describes the Nokia Normandy efforts as 'Full steam ahead'. This suggests what Nokia intends to do with its Asha range, targeted at budget buyers who with the ability to have access to more traditional smartphone apps.
Nokia has been working on Android powered phones despite Microsoft's plans to acquire the Nokia's handset business. So the question here is whether Nokia will release the handset before its deal with Microsoft is finalised.
However, contradicting the above rumours, former Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop said in July that the company has made the right call by choosing Windows over Android, first reported by The Guardian. Earlier reportsalso revealed that Nokia apparently experimented with Android for Lumia devices.
Currently, Nokia accounts for 80 percent of all Windows Phone sales. While Samsung and HTC have also made Windows Phones in the past, the poor sales number of these devices seems to have deterred them from heavily investing in the platform.
It seems almost inevitable if Nokia wants to recapture its fast depleting market share, could this be Nokia's next Android phone - we'll be waiting for announcement.

Windows 8.2 - Microsoft's Upcoming Operating System


Microsoft Released its New operating System Windows 8 few months back. but it failed to be popular as people dislikes the thought of removing the start button which is very popular since Windows 95 released. To solve this problem Microsoft decided to release upgraded version called Windows 8.1 but failed to attract people. Now Microsoft is Planning to Launch its new Operating System probably as Windows 8.2.

 Microsoft communications chief Frank Shaw said Microsoft wasn't ready to talk about how often Windows might come out when we spoke to him in January, but he agreed "you have certainly seen across a variety of our products a cadence that looks like that; Windows Phone is a good for example of that, our services are a good example of that".
We don't know if Windows 8.2 will be available as an upgrade from Windows 7 that you can buy as a standalone product or if you'll have to have Windows 8 to get the upgrade. But it may not be with us for a while yet - Windows business chief Tami Reller has talked about "multiple selling seasons" for Windows 8, meaning that we'll likely have several versions of it.

According to multiple sources, these are the highlights of Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8.2 update:
  • Start menu - as mentioned above, the Start button will be linked to the Start menu, the same way as it was since Windows 95
  • Internet Explorer - while version 11 of the browser did not bring any noticeable changes, the next version should feature obvious visual and functional changes
  • App store unification - one app store for Windows-powered tablets, phones and computers would be a logical move and it is possible to see it happening soon
  • File Explorer Libraries - this feature was introduced in Windows 7, still present in Windows 8, but vanished in Windows 8.1 and it will make its comeback in Windows 8.2

 Windows 8.2 to be cheaper, smaller, with more apps

In the last Microsoft earnings call CFO Peter Klein made it clear that Microsoft has got the message that Windows 8.2 tablets need to be cheaper; "we know that our growth depends on our ability to give customers the exciting hardware they want, at the price-points they demand."
Another revealing Microsoft job advert talks about having Windows Phone and WinRT apps run on both Windows Phone and Windows. "Do you wish the code you write for Windows Store apps would just work on the Windows Phone and vice versa? If so, then this is the role for you! We are the team leading the charge to bring much of the WinRT API surface and the .NET Windows Store profile to the Phone."
That sounds like a longer term goal, given that the job advert was on the Microsoft Careers site at the beginning of February, and it's being driven by the Windows Phone team (we don't expect to see the next version of Windows Phone until the autumn), but it could give developers an incentive to write apps for the Windows Store and give Windows 8.2 users more to choose from. Scaling apps to fit different size screens would help here too.

Li-Fi (Light Fidelity)-The future technology In Wireless communication

LiFi is a wireless optical networking technology that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for data transmission.
LiFi is designed to use LED light bulbs similar to those currently in use in many energy-conscious homes and offices. However, LiFi bulbs are outfitted with a chip that modulates the light imperceptibly for optical data transmission. LiFi data is transmitted by the LED bulbs and received by photoreceptors.
LiFi's early developmental models were capable of 150 megabits-per-second (Mbps). Some commercial kits enabling that speed have been released. In the lab, with stronger LEDs and different technology, researchers have enabled 10 gigabits-per-second (Gbps), which is faster than 802.11ad.

 How This Technology Works :
This brilliant idea was first showcased by Harald Haas from University of Edinburgh, UK, in his TED Global talk on VLC. He explained,” Very simple, if the LED is on, you transmit a digital 1, if it’s off you transmit a 0. The LEDs can be switched on and off very quickly, which gives nice opportunities for transmitting data.” So what you require at all are some LEDs and a controller that code data into those LEDs. We have to just vary the rate at which the LED’s flicker depending upon the data we want to encode. Further enhancements can be made in this method, like using an array of LEDs for parallel data transmission, or using mixtures of red, green and blue LEDs to alter the light’s frequency with  data rate can be increased by parallel data transmission using LED arrays where each LED transmits a different data stream. There are reasons to prefer LED as the light source in VLC while a lot of other illumination devices like fluorescent lamp, incandescent bulb etc. are available.
  
 Benefits of LiFi:
  • Higher speeds than Wi-Fi.
  • 10000 times the frequency spectrum of radio.
  • More secure because data cannot be intercepted without a clear line of sight.
  • Prevents piggybacking.
  • Eliminates neighboring network interference.
  • Unimpeded by radio interference.
  • Does not create interference in sensitive electronics, making it better for use in environments like hospitals and aircraft.
By using LiFi in all the lights in and around a building, the technology could enable greater area of coverage than a single WiFi router. Drawbacks to the technology include the need for a clear line of sight, difficulties with mobility and the requirement that lights stay on for operation.
